Dakota Zoo Volunteers

 

 

Are you a hands-on person with some time on your hands?  Do you like to build things, paint things, enjoy making plants grow, or have a special talent?  This may be the place to put those skills to work!  We have a wide variety of different where your help can make a difference.

 

Examples of Needed Areas (but not limited to)

  • Helping with special events (Breakfast, Children's Day, Annual Picnic, Easter Egg Hunt, Zoo Boo, etc...)

  • Helping in the membership booth

  • Office Projects/data entry

  • Checking in members on Saturdays and Sundays in our members' express line

  • Rake, sweep, trim and tidy grounds working with our groundskeepers

  • Build animal enrichment gadgets

  • Looking for persons with carpentry skills to  help build animal shelters, fences and other woodworking/carpentry type projects

  • Many Many more opportunities.

 

Volunteering is simple, fun and the hours are flexible.

*The Dakota Zoo will perform backgound checks on all volunteers.  Disclosure of a criminal record will not necessarily disqualify you from volunteering at the Zoo.  Failure to disclose such information will result in disqualification of your application or termination of your volunteer service.
