Part-time Education Assistant

Reports to the Education Coordinator, Assistant Zoo Director, and ultimately the Zoo Director. Helps develop, maintain, and implement the zoo’s work in administration and education.
Educational Duties:
- Assist with, and independently lead, camps, education events, and Zoo Crew programs
- Assist in program evaluation and updates on a regular basis which includes lesson planning and implementing new ideas
- Present animals and biofacts for on grounds programs as well as off grounds Wild Expedition visits, community outreach, etc.
- Incorporate empathy programming and be involved with the ACE for Wildlife Empathy program via the Dakota Zoo
- Incorporate conservation and the zoos mission to “instill and inspire a better understanding and appreciation for animals and nature” throughout all education programming
Administrative Duties:
- Assist with membership database input
- Assist with social media
- Assist with education rentals, event check in, and bookings as needed
~15hrs per week, year-round. Work days TBD based on candidate. Flexible as needed to ensure events, training, and education programs are covered.
